Eisenhower Matrix: The secret to business success lies in proper time management
Time is more valuable than gold, especially in the business world. Every second can either become an opportunity or be lost forever. As a Global Management company, one of our main principles is precisely the effective management of time. Because the first step of a properly directed strategy begins with the optimal distribution of time.
We all have 24 hours in a day. Some create miracles in these 24 hours, while others do not even remember how the day passed. The secret lies in the correct determination of priorities, and the Eisenhower Matrix helps us here. We perceive this matrix not only as a tool, but as an integral part of our corporate culture.
Define your goals precisely with the Eisenhower Matrix
This model, named after US President Dwight Eisenhower, divides all tasks into 4 categories according to the criteria of "urgent and important". Let's look at these categories in a business context:
Urgent and important - issues that need to be resolved "now and immediately". For example, an unexpected problem with a client. The speed of your reaction can decide the future of a client relationship. We approach such issues proactively.
Important but not urgent – long-term strategies, employee development, new market research, etc. Companies that devote time to this area are always a few steps ahead of their competitors. We allocate special time blocks for such tasks and prioritize them. Urgent but not important – distractions. For example, dozens of online emails during the day, frequent calls, etc. We carefully filter such issues and efficiently distribute them among team members.
Neither urgent nor important – “time killers”. We either postpone or cancel time-consuming tasks that are not directly related to the main goal.
How is time management implemented at Global Management?
We do not have unplanned chaos: every minute has its owner – either the client or the goal.
The main goal is not to be busy, but to be productive. Therefore, we make the most of the opportunities of technology.
Transparency within the team: everyone respects their own and others' time. Harmoniously working teams mean less stress and more results.
Regular "break moments": once a week, each employee has the right to 30 minutes of "doing nothing" - to think, breathe and self-evaluate. Because taking a break is not a retreat, but a return to productivity.
What do you gain as a result?
You manage your time; you work better with your team; you respond to your customers more promptly and accurately and, most importantly, you maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life.
