Global Media Group, in collaboration with the UN Global Compact, organized a training course on The Language of Sustainability for Media

Global Media Group organized a training on “The Language of Sustainability for Media” within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the UN Global Compact. The training, organized in the Green Zone of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), aims to ensure a more active participation of the Global Media Group in international platforms in the field of sustainability, to promote sustainable development through the media, to support media representatives in creating more effective and informative content on sustainability and climate change, as well as to ensure better public awareness of climate change, environmental protection and sustainability issues.

The speaker of the training, Wynne Boelt, Head of Communications of the UN Global Compact, shared his international experience with the employees of the media organizations included in the Global Media Group and emphasized the responsibility of the media on climate change and sustainability issues: “The media plays an important role in informing the public, especially in covering climate problems. By highlighting important issues, the media raises public awareness and, by influencing a wider audience, inspires collective action for a sustainable future. The steps and commitments taken by Global Media Group in this direction are important not only for Azerbaijan, but also for achieving global sustainability goals.

Elnur Abdullayev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Global Media Group, said that Global Media Group's commitment and partnership with the UN Global Compact is an important step for the sustainable development of both the company and its constituent entities: "This training confirms Global Media Group's commitments in the field of sustainable development and demonstrates its determination to play an active role at the national and international levels for a green future. As Global Media Group, we aim to increase awareness of a sustainable future both within the company and in society by strengthening educational work in this direction."

It should be noted that on October 9 of this year, Global Media Group and its "Global Management" signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UN Global Compact. According to the document, relevant institutions will implement joint measures to promote sustainable business practices and the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact in society.
